At our home in 2020 we planted a small vineyard to Roussanne, Marsanne & Viognier.
For the 2022 vintage we figured it was time to start working with the variety.
We managed to snag a little Roussanne from a sought after vineyard on the outskirts of Angaston to play with.
2022 ROUSSANNE
The fruit was simply basket pressed and put straight to a seasoned Barrique for a spontaneous ferment, aged Sur lie for twelve months with occasional stirring, then racked to tank for one month with a small addition of S02. It was bottled unfined & unfiltered with 255 bottles filled.
The 2022 Roussanne is a bright and generous bottling with a core of fruit that loves a swirl in a big glass and will sit comfortably in bottle for at least a few more years..
